Maid uses anothers passport in flee attempt

An Ethiopian housemaid, who fled her employer and used a genuine passport and visa of a compatriot woman to try to flee from the UAE, was sentenced to three months in jail.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance ordered RL, 26, to be deported after serving her jail term.

The records mentioned that after fleeing her employer who kept her passport in his custody, RL managed to get a genuine visa and a passport of a compatriot woman for Dh8,500 and went to the airport to leave the UAE.

At the airport, an officer discovered that the picture on the passport was not that of the passenger.

Investigators found out that the woman used genuine documents of another woman to try to leave the UAE as her passport was in the possession of her employer from whom she fled.
