Five Syrian men were held by Honduran authorities as they tried to reach the United States on doctored Greek passports. Police say the passports were stolen in Greece and the photographs later replaced with those of the Syrian travellers. Suspicions were roused during interviews with the group. A statement from Honduran authorities said they’ve now been handed over to Interpol for further investigation. Another Syrian man on a similarly bogus passport was caught on Friday and deported. Officials say there’s no sign of any links to last week’s attacks in Paris. There are reports that at least one of those involved in the Paris massacre may have slipped into Europe among migrants registered in Greece.
