Terrorist Trying to Flee With Forged Passport Arrested at RHIA

The General Security arrested at the Rafic Hariri International Airport a Lebanese fugitive while he was trying to flee the country to Venezuela through Turkey, the state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday.

The runaway has been in hiding since 2001 trying to flee several arrest warrants including a death sentence against him.

He was trying to escape using a forged passport using the name of his brother, NNA added.

He is wanted on terror charges including belonging to the Fatah al-Islam militant group, forming a terrorist ring and having schemes to bomb the Italian and Ukrainian embassies and security positions in addition to having bombed several restaurants and supermarket in different Lebanese regions.
