Man borrows passport to attend funeral

An Asian man is on trial in Abu Dhabi after he was arrested at the airport trying to travel on a forged passport to attend his daughter’s funeral in his home country.

The man confessed to paying Dh800 to another man to borrow his passport to travel to his home country after he could not get his own passport from his employers.

“He told court that he only wanted to travel to his home country to attend his daughter’s funeral. He said he can prove his daughter’s death to court,” Al Khaleej daily said, adding that hearings were adjourned to April 8.
